10 Resources for Therapists to Improve Financial Literacy that are FREE and don’t include Dave Ramsey…

{No hate against Dave, I learned a lot from his stuff, but there is only so much you can cut down on your spending and I also have enough info from wealthy, old, white dudes.}

Financial literacy is an important step to financial stability and ultimately wealth. It isn’t the only step, but like we say about certain things in therapy: It is necessary but not sufficient. Thankfully, there are several free resources to help you on this knowledge journey.

  1. The Journey to Launch Podcast and website, has a get started guide.

  2. Rich and Regular has a podcast, website, videos, and a book. Lots of free resources.

  3. Her First 100k website: she has a book too, but the website has a lot of free resources

  4. Free, assuming you have Netflix, the docuseries “How to get rich.” It’s a clickbait title, but ultimately has good information.

  5. Borrow books from the library. The librarian can help point you to some good ones, or you can rent a digital one.

  6. Practical Money Skills website has a ton of free resources and work books, it was created by Visa.

  7. MoneySkill website contains all the information you wish you had in high school and undergrad. Developed by the American Financial Services Association.

  8. Brad Klontz is a PsyD and a Certified Financial Planner. So he’s got a therapist background and does a lot of introductory research on financial issues with therapists.

  9. Jennie Schottmiller is a LMFT and a CPA and she is amazing, I’m in her facebook group and frequently use her website. Gonna do the membership soon.

  10. Farnoosh Tarobi has a great website and podcast
